Whether you're melting chocolate, making custard or preparing hollandaise sauce, you can count on impeccable performance from this classic French double boiler. The tin-lined copper pan quickly brings water to a gentle simmer beneath the heavy porcelain insert, which maintains its contents at a steady low temperature.

    • Made from 1.5mm-gauge copper for superior heat conductivity and temperature control.
    • Durable tin-lined interior is non-reactive and easy to clean.
    • Heavy porcelain insert prevents scorching.
    • Riveted, comfortably angled bronze handle.
    • Tight-fitting domed lid circulates heat and locks in moisture.
    • Made in France.
    • 14 cm diam., 22 cm high overall; 3 kg with lid and insert.
    • Saucepan: 1.5 L cap.
    • Insert: 1.2 L.

    Additional Information

    • Made from 1.5mm-gauge copper.
    • You can also use the tin-lined copper saucepan without the insert for everything from simmering sauces and soups to cooking grains.
    • Made in France.

    Use

    • Ideal for gas and electric cooktops.
    • Oven safe up to 232°C.
    • To protect the tin lining from damage, do not heat pan empty or at temperatures above 232°C.
    • Use wood, plastic or heat-resistant nylon tools to avoid scratching the tin lining.

    Care

    • Allow pan to cool before washing.
    • Handwash; dry immediately with a soft cloth.
    • Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads or harsh detergents.
    • Copper will develop a rich patina over time. This will not affect the pan's cooking performance. To keep the exterior looking new, use a copper polish or a combination of lemon and salt.
    • The tin lining protects foods from reacting with copper but will become discoloured over time. This is normal. Depending on the frequency of use and types of food cooked, the tin lining may eventually have to be replaced. To prolong the lining's usefulness, avoid cooking acidic ingredients in your tin-lined cookware.

We offer four types of delivery (Small Parcel, Small Standard, Standard, Deluxe) determined by the items in your order. An item's delivery type is displayed under the "Stock Status" information on each product page online. Delivery charges are calculated by destination and are charged per order. Multiple–product orders are charged according to the product with the highest delivery type. To view the overall cost of your delivery, please add all items to your shopping cart and ensure your delivery postcode is correct.

Customise your delivery! If you’d like to save on shipping, you may be able to change your Deluxe delivery to a lower priced Small Standard or Standard. Alternatively, you may also be able to upgrade your Small Standard or Standard delivery to experience our full Deluxe service. Either way, look for the option and your item/s eligibility at checkout.

Sometimes products may arrive separately but you will only be charged one delivery fee per order. Also, products delivered separately may be sent via the delivery type of that product rather than the overall order. Please provide a street address for delivery — we cannot ship to PO Boxes. NOTE: In some areas, we are unable to provide our full Deluxe service.
