    • Our classic braising sauce makes it easy to create a quick, satisfying one-pot meal – with minimal prep. The slow-simmered ragu gets its delicious flavour from tomatoes, red wine, Parmesan cheese, garlic, savoury spices and a kick of crushed chillies. Just combine it with seared beef, then finish the dish in the oven. Serve the hearty braise with crusty bread and a green salad.

    Receiving Instructions

    • Sauce ships fresh at ambient temperature.
    • Upon receipt, store at room temperature for up to 18 months. Once opened, store in refrigerator and enjoy within 6 months.

    PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

    • Season 500g beef chuck, cut into 5 cm pieces, with salt and pepper.
    • In large casserole dish over medium-high heat, warm 2 Tbs. oil. Working in batches, brown beef on all sides, approx. 8–10 minutes per batch. Return beef to pot and add braising sauce. Fill sauce jar with 2 1/2 cups (625 ml) water and swirl to remove any remaining sauce. Add water to pot and bring to a simmer. Cover pot tightly with aluminium foil, then cover with lid.
    • Transfer to 180°C oven and cook until meat is fork-tender, approx. 2–2 1/2 hours. Remove beef ragu from oven. Skim fat off sauce and shred meat.
    • Toss ragu with 375 g freshly cooked pappardelle or pasta of your choice, along with 1/4 cup (60 ml) reserved pasta water.
    • If desired, garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
